In a shocking move, Hon. (Barr) Makanjuola Gbenga Peter, former house of representative, two time PDP Deputy Governor Candidate and Sen Bukola Saraki Ex-COS, has resigned from the party.
In a letter dated July 30, 2024, addressed to the party leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Omu-Aran Ward 1, Irepodun Local Government Area
Hon. Makanjuola announced his resignation, effective immediately. He expressed gratitude to God and appreciation to the party members and leadership at the ward, local, and state levels for the opportunity to serve.
The reasons for his resignation were not disclosed, but sources close to the party indicate that Hon. Makanjuola’s decision may be linked to internal party conflicts and ideological differences.
His resignation is seen as a significant blow to the PDP in Kwara State, where Hon. Makanjuola was a prominent figure and a strong advocate for the party’s ideals.
The party leadership has yet to react to the resignation, but political analysts predict that this development may have far-reaching implications for the PDP in the state.
